Introduction to Steam

  1. Steam Trap Selection

    1. Steam trap model selection

After determining the amount of discharging condensate required by steam traps, select the steam trap model.

There are many kinds of steam trap models and each has different features. Steam traps can be selected by appropriately judging whether these features meet the conditions of use.

For instance, mechanical steam traps are suitable for process equipment which needs to discharge condensate immediately.

On the other hand, thermostatic type steam traps are often suitable for steam tracing and other cases in which condensate temperature drops below the saturated temperature or where durability is an important factor, and disk traps are often effective where space is limited Energy saving initiatives start from main facilities in the factory, and now a great deal of focus is on steam trap management.

In addition to performance and energy efficiency as well as ease of maintenance and inspection become matters of consideration.
